Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to take on the role of Project Cost Accounting Manager. This position is crucial for overseeing financial aspects of construction projects and ensuring that they align with budgetary expectations and financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise financial activities related to construction and customer installations, ensuring alignment with financial targets.
  • Conduct regular financial evaluations to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and various departments to oversee Construction in Progress (CIP) from initiation to completion, ensuring accurate capitalization upon project closure.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, project managers, and stakeholders.
  • Identify potential financial risks associated with projects and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Evaluate financial implications of changes in project scope or timelines.
  • Oversee company-owned assets throughout their lifecycle, including acquisition, adjustments, disposals, and transfers.
  • Ensure accuracy of asset-specific information such as service commencement dates, locations, quantities, costs, and disposal dates.
  • Monitor capital expenditures against budgetary limits and management approvals.
  • Track cash flow related to fixed asset additions.
  • Conduct annual physical audits of fixed assets.
  • Design and implement financial processes and systems to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Continuously improve practices and procedures in capital fixed asset accounting.
  • Provide training and guidance to accounting staff on best practices in capital fixed asset accounting.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with auditors during financial audits and assist with inquiries related to fixed assets.
  • Stay informed on changes in accounting regulations and industry trends related to capital accounting.
  • Identify inefficiencies in cost and capital accounting processes and recommend improvements or automation solutions.
  • Utilize technology tools and systems to streamline capital fixed asset accounting processes and enhance reporting capabilities.
  • Handle ad hoc requests as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Strong technical accounting skills with a focus on project accounting.
  • Experience in construction or telecommunications sectors is preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • MBA and/or CPA designation is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite), Microsoft Excel, and other financial analysis tools is desirable.
  • Ability to think critically and analytically.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Capability to work independently as well.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
