Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints and financial objectives.
  • Conduct regular financial evaluations to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers and engineers to track the progress of construction projects from initiation to completion, ensuring accurate asset capitalization.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Identify potential financial risks associated with projects and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Evaluate the financial implications of changes in project scope or timelines.
  • Manage the lifecycle of company-owned assets, including acquisition, adjustments, and disposals.
  • Ensure the accuracy of asset-specific information, including service commencement dates and costs.
  • Monitor capital expenditures to ensure compliance with budgetary limits.
  • Track cash flow related to fixed asset additions.
  • Conduct annual audits of fixed assets.
  • Enhance financial processes and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide training and support to accounting staff on best practices in capital asset accounting.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with auditors during financial audits and respond to inquiries regarding fixed assets.
  • Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and industry trends.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to cost and capital accounting processes.
  • Utilize technology to streamline accounting processes and enhance reporting capabilities.
  • Handle ad hoc financial requests as necessary.
Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Strong technical skills in project accounting.
  • Experience in the construction or telecommunications sectors is preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Advanced degrees such as an MBA or CPA are advantageous.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial analysis tools.
  • Ability to think critically and analytically.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
