Position Overview:

The Healthcare Customer Service Specialist is responsible for welcoming, guiding, and scheduling patients and visitors. This role encompasses a variety of administrative tasks to support physicians and clinic personnel. Key responsibilities include retrieving insurance and patient details, providing necessary forms for tests or internal communications, and securing required signatures. The specialist will input new and existing patient data into the system, manage incoming calls, set patient appointments, and relay messages for all staff members. Additionally, this position involves monitoring and adjusting physician schedules as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with patients and families in a compassionate and professional manner.
  • Assist in patient care activities related to data entry and patient account management.
  • Establish payment plans and facilitate the collection of payments.
  • Address inquiries regarding insurance claims, disability benefits, home health services, medical equipment, surgical procedures, medical records, and patient referrals.

Qualifications:

Healthcare Customer Service Specialist

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: No prior experience required.
  • New hires must complete Clinic Core Front Desk Training as part of their onboarding process.

Advanced Healthcare Customer Service Specialist

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current specialists seeking advancement must complete both Customer Service and Advanced competencies prior to promotion.
