Job Overview

JG Real Estate is a dynamic full-service brokerage situated in Northern Liberties, dedicated to serving all of Center City and its neighboring areas through leasing, sales, and property management.

We are in search of a full-time Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance Team. The ideal candidate will possess the skills necessary to execute both preventive and responsive handyman-level repairs across various properties. A comprehensive understanding of building maintenance is essential, along with proficiency in performing minor repairs. This role demands a high level of professionalism and effective communication skills.

The Maintenance Team is tasked with managing our extensive portfolio of properties. Responsibilities include conducting various inspections (annual, security deposit, turnover planning), addressing all maintenance requests from tenants, executing small repairs directly, and coordinating with third-party vendors (electricians, plumbers, HVAC specialists, painters, cleaners, roofers, etc.) for larger issues. Additionally, advising landlords on optimal repair strategies and preventive measures is crucial. We maintain a fiduciary duty to our clients while fostering positive relationships with tenants and vendors. Our philosophy emphasizes a balance of fairness and empathy, recognizing that tenant satisfaction is ultimately beneficial for landlords.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary range of $50,000 - $75,000 based on experience
  • 15 days of paid time off (PTO)
  • 401K plan available after 6 months of employment with a matching contribution up to 4%

Compensation:

$50,000 - $75,000 annually based on experience

Key Responsibilities:

The daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Plumbing repairs
  • Electrical repairs
  • Painting and patching
  • Appliance repair and installation
  • HVAC maintenance tasks
  • Debris removal
  • Changing lock sets
  • Installing smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, and fire extinguishers
  • Landscaping duties
  • Replacing hinges and adjusting doors
Qualifications:

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • Clean driving record
  • Clear criminal background
  • A minimum of 3 years experience as a maintenance technician, tradesman, or contractor
  • Comfortable using specialized equipment (e.g., dump trailer, tractor)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Creative problem-solving abilities
  • Availability for on-call duties
  • Good physical condition and strength
  • Willingness to work outside of standard business hours as necessary
