Job Summary

The Kentucky Energy & Environment Cabinet is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Engineer II to join our team. As a key member of our Division of Water/Water Infrastructure Branch/Engineering Section, you will be responsible for reviewing plans and specifications related to drinking water and wastewater infrastructure to ensure compliance with environmental engineering standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

- Review plans and specifications for drinking water and wastewater infrastructure construction projects to ensure compliance with engineering standards, regulations, and laws.
- Review permit applications and contract documents for compliance with applicable regulations regarding the State Revolving Fund (SRF) Loan Program.
- Provide technical assistance to Department staff and the public with regards to water and wastewater infrastructure and the SRF loan program.
- Manage reviews of infrastructure construction projects using the Advantage Regulatory Management database.

Requirements

- Must have two years of engineering experience in addition to that required for licensure as a professional engineer.
- Must be licensed as a professional engineer by the Kentucky Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors.

Working Conditions

The work is typically performed in an office setting, with occasional travel throughout the state required. The job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months.
