Job Summary

Mortenson Family Dental is seeking a highly skilled Sterilization Technician to join our team. As a Sterilization Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our patients and staff. Your primary responsibility will be to decontaminate and sterilize instruments, medical supplies, and equipment, ensuring that they are free from any bacteria or other microorganisms. You will also be responsible for assembling, wrapping, and sterilizing trays of instruments, as well as monitoring biological and chemical wash solutions to ensure quality and consistency. Additionally, you will perform environmental maintenance duties, maintain logs, and assist in maintaining inventory levels in sterile processing and equipment storage areas. Responsibilities
  • Decontaminate and sterilize instruments, medical supplies, and equipment.
  • Assemble, wrap, and sterilize trays of instruments.
  • Follow sterilization precautions while decontaminating.
  • Monitor biological and chemical wash solutions to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Perform environmental maintenance duties and maintain logs.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory levels in sterile processing and equipment storage areas.
  • Verify that equipment functions properly, requisition for equipment maintenance, repair, or replacement, and remove defective equipment when needed.
  • Check and replace sharps containers, biohazard trash bins, and chairside traps.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Perform weekly spore testing and maintain a log of the results.
  • Perform weekly and monthly maintenance of Autoclave and Statim.
  • Assist clinical staff in optimizing patient flow, including restocking items, seating patients, floating, supporting other dental team members with patient care.
  • Assist with maintaining established company policies and procedures, objectives, and quality safety, and environmental and infection control standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma.
  • Hep B Vaccination.
  • Tetanus Vaccination.

Desirable
  • CPR Certification.
  • Sterilization / Dental Assistant Experience.
