PremiStar is seeking an experienced Automation Systems Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our building automation solutions team, you will be responsible for programming, installing, and troubleshooting building automation systems.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in programming and installing building automation systems, with a strong background in electrical circuits and wiring. You will work closely with our team to ensure the efficient operation of our clients' buildings.

Responsibilities:

  • Program and install building automation systems, including controllers, sensors, and actuators.
  • Field verify the proper operation of all control devices.
  • Troubleshoot existing installations, including diagnosing and resolving problems.
  • Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area.
  • Discuss automation system malfunctions with customers to isolate problems or to verify that malfunctions have been corrected.
  • Record and report all faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders.
  • Study blueprints, design specifications, and manufacturers' recommendations to ascertain the configuration of heating or cooling equipment components and to ensure the proper installation of components.
  • Run and terminate low voltage wiring and cabling as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience programming and installing building automation systems.

Competencies:

  • Knowledge and experience programming fully programmable and application specific controllers.
  • Knowledge of electrical circuits and wiring and operating principles of electrical devices.
  • Ability to communicate with internal team and customers.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations Ability to diagnose and resolve problems.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
