Research Director

The Initiative on Land, Housing & Property Rights at Boston College Law seeks a highly qualified Research Director to lead its research program. The successful candidate will have a strong background in research and a proven track record of producing high-quality research that informs policy and practice.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a comprehensive research agenda that aligns with the Initiative's mission and goals.
- Lead a team of researchers in designing and conducting research projects, including data collection, analysis, and dissemination.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, including academics, policymakers, and practitioners, to identify research opportunities and build partnerships.
- Develop and manage research budgets, including securing funding from external sources.
- Oversee the publication and dissemination of research findings, including writing reports, articles, and other materials.
- Ph.D. in a relevant field, such as law, sociology, economics, or urban planning.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in research, including experience in designing and conducting research projects, managing research teams, and securing funding.
- Strong publication record, including articles in peer-reviewed journals and books.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, including the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Experience working in a research institution or think tank.
- Experience in securing funding from external sources, including government agencies and private foundations.
- Experience in collaborating with external stakeholders, including academics, policymakers, and practitioners.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in statistical software and data analysis.
