Job Title: Director of Research

Job Summary:

The Cancer Support Community is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Research to lead our research initiatives and advance our mission to uplift and strengthen people impacted by cancer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing research strategies, managing research projects, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to drive innovation and impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement research strategies to advance our mission and goals
  • Manage research projects from conceptualization to dissemination, including designing research studies, collecting and analyzing data, and interpreting results
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including researchers, clinicians, and community leaders, to drive innovation and impact
  • Develop and maintain relationships with funding agencies, research institutions, and other organizations to secure funding and resources for research projects
  • Provide research consultation and support to other departments and teams within the organization

Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree in social and behavioral sciences, psychology, health economics, social work, public health, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of post-graduate experience in research, including experience in psychosocial outcomes and/or interventions with chronic illness/cancer
  • Expertise in mixed-methods research, including quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
