Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead our Northwest Division's newly awarded $250M+ project in the San Francisco area. As a key member of our team, you will oversee the entire lifecycle of the project, from preconstruction to project close out.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Manage all aspects of the project, including construction, budget, and cash management to ensure compliance with the project contract and owner needs.
  • Schedule and Budget Management: Develop and manage the project schedule, pay estimates, project procedures, and equipment resources needed to complete accurate and timely project production.
  • Team Leadership: Develop and manage the project organizational chart and staffing assignments for each phase of production, ensuring the accurate and timely completion of project objectives.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical insight to additional project pursuits and participate in bid interviews, as necessary. Assess the initial project contract and work with the owner to resolve specification, contract conflict, and scheduling issues.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with all project stakeholders proactively, including managing partners, local landowners, business owners, and regulatory bodies that will have influence over project success.
  • Equipment Procurement: Provide input on equipment procurement methods and contracts to ensure efficient and effective project production.
  • Risk Management: Coordinate with the field team to identify project risk and negotiate change orders and potential disputes with the owner.
  • Reporting and Communication: Present monthly project reports to Flatiron Construction Corp Executive leadership.
  • Safety and Compliance: Champion project safety by ensuring compliance with project and Flatiron Construction Corp safety procedures above all else.
  • Staffing and Development: Actively participate in and oversee project and divisional staffing needs through interviewing and personal networking.
  • Project Closeout: Lead project closeout procedures, finalizing contract paperwork, obtaining retainages, and working with management to resolve any project claims. Lead project debrief cycle to review all aspects of project work and completion.
Requirements
  • Experience: 15+ years' experience in construction project management required.
  • Project Management: 10+ years' experience in managing personnel required on mid to large-scale heavy civil road and highway projects. Previous grade separation project experience is preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field a plus.
  • Project Delivery: Proven experience in bid-build, CMCG, design-build, and/or other alternative delivery projects required.
  • Risk Management: Strong proven skill to identify, track, analyze, and manage project risk.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to efficiently and effectively manage multiple departments and direct reports to retain focus on one project completion goal and timeline.
  • Coaching and Mentoring: Proven ability to identify growth opportunities for project personnel and develop to coach and mentor project personnel.
  • Delegation: Effective delegation skills to drive efficient, accurate, and profitable project completion.
  • Claim and Dispute Resolution: Strong ability to appropriately recover funds from claim and dispute resolution.
  • Multi-Department Management: Demonstrable skills in the ability to manage multiple departments and direct reports to retain focus on the project completion goal and timeline.
  • Negotiation: Strong, inherent ability and drive to negotiate terms of agreement for project work, budget, and fund recovery in the project's best interest.

Minimum: USD $250,000.00/Yr.
