Job Summary

The Financial Analyst will report to the Controller at St James Winery. This position is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the general ledger and financial reporting, account reconciliations, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and be proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and process journal entries, manage the month-end process, and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Account Reconciliations: Reconcile balance sheet accounts, item inventory reconciliation, and cost accounting for finished goods and grapes/wine.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare all excise, sales, and use tax returns, and federal and state monthly compliance reports.
  • Operational Support: Provide operational support for Business Central and other software systems as a finance liaison.
  • Process Improvements: Assist with process improvements, cap ex for accounting purposes, and back up to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in an accounting position.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of accounting principles, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, excellent oral and written communication skills, and proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Physical Demands: Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment with frequent interruptions. The primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting.
