Wisconsin Building Trades Council

The Wisconsin Building Trades Council (WBTC) is a coalition of numerous local building trades unions representing a significant workforce dedicated to enhancing local employment and economic growth. Our mission is to foster partnerships that contribute to the development and sustainability of our communities and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Strategic Direction: Act as the principal leader and spokesperson for WBTC, guiding the organization towards achieving its strategic goals.
  • Financial Oversight: Prepare and propose the annual budget, ensuring financial health and sustainability.

Marketing & Outreach:

  • Promote labor-management apprenticeship programs to a diverse audience, including schools and community organizations.
  • Implement effective communication strategies to highlight the Council's initiatives and successes.
  • Engage with media and stakeholders to elevate the Council's public presence.

Advocacy & Government Engagement:

  • Build and maintain relationships with elected officials and advocacy groups to represent the interests of the construction industry.
  • Collaborate with labor organizations to enhance political influence and advocacy efforts.
  • Stay informed on legislative developments affecting the construction sector and advocate for responsible contracting practices.

Administrative Management:

  • Oversee daily operations, including regulatory compliance and coordination with various stakeholders.
  • Facilitate meetings and events that promote member engagement and community outreach.
  • Manage the Council's online presence, ensuring up-to-date information is available to members and the public.
