Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:
  • Business Development & Broker Relations: Cultivate and enhance relationships with property and casualty brokers to generate new account opportunities within the International Casualty division.
  • Broker and Territory Oversight: Implement the sales and marketing strategy for designated territories or brokers, ensuring effective planning and execution of monthly broker interactions and stewardship meetings to drive new business and maintain existing accounts.
  • Account Identification: Leverage knowledge of the sales territory and broker-managed business to create and refine a long-term prospecting strategy alongside a short-term target list for new business opportunities.
  • Quote Development: Analyze new business submissions to assess the nature of international casualty risks and the current offerings, using this insight to formulate and present competitive quotes.
  • Client and Broker Service: Collaborate with brokers and clients to understand and adapt to changing client needs driven by international market dynamics and structural changes.
  • Risk Assessment and Management: Tackle the challenge of underwriting profitable new business opportunities, considering operational nature, deal structure, quality of information, and compliance with local and US requirements, leveraging Chubb's leading multinational capabilities.
Essential Duties:

  • Solicit new and renewal submissions from brokers.
  • Establish terms, conditions, and complex rating plans.
  • Bind coverage as necessary.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of underwriting files.
  • Manage complex files and portfolios within underwriting authority.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of the insurance sector.
  • Familiarity with underwriting principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of underwriting experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Controlled Master Programs and international casualty underwriting principles is highly desirable.
  • Sales experience is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and effective working relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, along with strong negotiation abilities.
  • Proficient in technology, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet marketing skills.
