Job Summary

The Health and Human Services Commission is seeking a highly skilled Nursing Quality Monitor to join our team. As a key member of our Quality Monitoring Program, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of residents in Texas nursing facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct monitoring visits in Texas nursing facilities to assess conditions that could place residents' health, safety, and welfare at risk.
  • Utilize expertise in nursing practice to identify facility strengths and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with facility staff to develop and implement strategies to improve systems and achieve best practice.
  • Provide in-service education and training to facility professional staff on evidence-based best practices.
  • Document accurate and complete reports of monitoring visits and communicate findings, recommendations, and technical assistance to facility administrators and staff.
Requirements
  • Current Texas Registered Nurse license in good standing.
  • Ability to travel with overnight stays (80%).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across the agency to identify innovative solutions.
