Position Overview

Energy Impact Partners (EIP) is a premier global investment platform dedicated to facilitating the transition towards a sustainable energy future. EIP collaborates with visionary entrepreneurs and leading energy and industrial firms to foster clean energy innovation. With $5 billion in assets under management, EIP invests worldwide across various sectors including venture, growth, and credit, supported by a team of over 90 professionals.

EIP is currently in search of a Financial Operations Manager to enhance the expanding Finance department, which operates under the leadership of the CFO and Controller. This team closely collaborates with the investment, operations, and investor relations divisions, maintaining direct communication with EIP's executive leadership. The role is based in Washington, DC and may involve occasional travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate coordination with investment teams to ensure smooth deal execution, portfolio oversight, and funding/disbursement processes while accurately recording and accounting for related transactions.
  • Collaborate with investment teams to prepare and review quarterly valuations of portfolio companies, including the analysis of intricate capital structures and the application of valuation methodologies in compliance with ASC-820.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of annual and quarterly financial statements for credit funds, along with quarterly and monthly reporting workbooks.
  • Manage relationships with Third Party Administrators engaged in credit fund operations.
  • Ensure compliance with Small Business Administration regulations for SBIC funds.
  • Supervise and mentor direct reports and junior staff, focusing on their professional development.
  • Proactively manage fund liquidity and lines of credit, including forecasting, adherence to partnership agreements, and determining the timing of investor capital calls.
  • Analyze and compute investment and fund performance metrics, including returns and carried interest waterfalls.
  • Enhance and maintain controls, documentation, and record-keeping practices.
  • Assist in coordinating with fund service providers, including auditors, tax professionals, custodians, and valuation experts.
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses for senior management and fulfill additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of comprehensive experience in finance or accounting roles.
  • 2-3 years of experience in private credit is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with outstanding academic credentials.
  • CPA or CFA designation is preferred.
  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration to drive progress.
  • Management experience is advantageous.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong ethical standards and integrity.
  • Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements in a growing organization.
  • Capacity to effectively manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, learn rapidly, and communicate clearly.
