Financial Operations Manager

TriSource Staffing Solutions is seeking a dedicated Financial Operations Manager to enhance our finance team. This pivotal role will report directly to the VP of Finance & Controller and will be responsible for overseeing the operational and technical accounting functions within the organization. The Financial Operations Manager will ensure the smooth execution of daily accounting activities, preparation and evaluation of financial reports, and will play a vital role in managing compliance and external audits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the daily accounting operations, including month-end closing processes, financial statement preparation, general ledger reconciliations, and comprehensive financial reporting.
  • Supervise and develop teams responsible for grants management, subledger activities, financial reporting, and general ledger operations, while implementing robust controls to minimize risks and identify discrepancies.
  • Provide both operational and strategic guidance to the General Ledger, General Accounting, and Accounts Receivable teams, fostering open communication, setting objectives, coaching, and supporting professional growth.
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP and organizational standards, proactively investigating accounting issues and advising on suitable accounting treatments.
  • Conduct financial analytics to validate accuracy, focusing on control and compliance, while addressing emerging technical accounting standards.
  • Assist in the deployment and upkeep of accounting systems and software, aiming to optimize processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Document and refine business processes and accounting policies to bolster internal controls, analyzing workflows and recommending enhancements for operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate the preparation of internal and external financial statements and oversee external audit processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Active CPA certification is mandatory.
  • A minimum of ten years of professional experience, with at least eight years in a leadership capacity; substantial experience in nonprofit accounting is essential.
  • Proven experience in managing accounting, general ledger, and financial reporting functions.
  • Proficient in financial reporting and analysis tools, with strong skills in Excel and financial databases.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, capable of engaging with stakeholders across all levels.
