Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled Microbiology Laboratory Specialist to contribute to our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct microbiological analyses, shelf-life evaluations, and activity assessments while adhering to strict aseptic protocols and maintaining comprehensive documentation to support ongoing initiatives.
  • Perform tasks such as plate pouring, aseptic techniques, media formulation, and determining the population of biological indicators.
  • Prepare diverse food samples for both chemical and biological examinations, ensuring the application of effective aseptic techniques.
  • Engage in media preparation and sterilization, utilizing aseptic methods during sample handling.
  • Assist laboratory personnel by managing glassware, maintaining logs, resolving issues, and contributing to special projects.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of glassware through collection, washing, sterilization, and distribution.
  • Manage glassware inventory by ordering, receiving, and tracking supplies.
  • Maintain laboratory inventory by monitoring stock levels, placing orders, and confirming deliveries.
  • Ensure equipment functionality by adhering to operating guidelines, troubleshooting malfunctions, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and coordinating repairs.
  • Document laboratory activities by keeping daily logs and maintaining equipment records.
  • Address challenges by analyzing data and implementing corrective measures.
  • Support project completion by collaborating with the project team and participating in meetings.
  • Enhance professional knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and reviewing technical literature.
  • Contribute to the laboratory's reputation by taking ownership of new tasks and exploring ways to add value to job outcomes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Required Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a laboratory role or related field.
  • Familiarity with standard laboratory terminology.
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment.
  • Strong organizational capabilities.

This position is temporary, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role.
