Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in hands-on assembly and operation of state-of-the-art testing platforms that support the U.S. Nuclear Navy.
  • Construct, install, maintain, repair, calibrate, and troubleshoot electronic testing apparatus, circuitry, and process control/data acquisition hardware in compliance with the National Electric Code and other relevant standards.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical testing equipment within a dedicated testing environment.
  • Collaborate closely with peers, engineers, contractors, maintenance staff, and management to ensure optimal operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment and facilities.
  • Monitor data acquisition during routine operations, interpret instrument readings, and assess instrument validity based on calibration and operational conditions.
  • Ensure facility operations align with documented test plans, procedures, and operational guidelines.
  • Achieve qualification as an operator on all testing hardware within the designated work area, including supporting shift work as necessary.
  • Assemble and install complex testing and special equipment to meet desired operational specifications.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field or Journeyman's certification in a related discipline.
  • Experience with PLC and data acquisition systems for monitoring and controlling complex fluid and mechanical systems.
  • A technical background in both electrical and mechanical systems is preferred.
