Position Overview:

We are in search of a skilled Project Engineer to join Atkinson Construction, a prominent heavy civil division of Clark Construction. The Project Engineer plays a crucial role in delivering both administrative and technical support essential for the successful execution of construction projects. Key responsibilities encompass scheduling, financial management, material acquisition, subcontractor coordination, and overall project oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage actively in safety training to align with Atkinson's safety protocols.
  • Participate in regular meetings and site inspections as part of the TRACK process.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with craft personnel, inspectors, subcontractors, vendors, and the project management team.
  • Anticipate the needs of the construction crew to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Prioritize daily tasks by understanding project timelines and material lead times.
  • Provide timely and accurate information to agencies, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally in both written and verbal formats.
  • Investigate challenges, pose insightful questions, gather feedback, and suggest viable solutions.
  • Manage project budgets to ensure costs remain within estimates.
  • Pursue personal development beyond assigned duties.
  • Deliver safe and efficient engineering solutions.
  • Monitor and update project quantities to maintain accurate budgets and forecasts.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of invoices and ensure timely payments to subcontractors and vendors.
  • Compile necessary documentation for change orders and requisitions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in commercial or heavy civil construction projects.
  • Demonstrated initiative, independence, and integrity.
  • Ability to communicate openly, listen actively, and learn from colleagues.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Robust work ethic and capacity to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
