Position Overview:
We are in search of an Information Security Specialist (Subject Matter Expert). This position is crucial for safeguarding the client's information systems and networks against potential cyber threats.

The Information Security Specialist should demonstrate a profound understanding of technology and the application of security measures including Firewalls (Security Groups), VPNs, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), Web Proxies, security tools, and conducting security audits.

Candidates will collaborate closely with team leaders, developers, and operational staff throughout a DevSecOps lifecycle, focusing on both policy formulation and the technical execution of security technologies.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan, implement, manage, monitor, and enhance security protocols and tools to protect information systems and networks while automating repetitive tasks in a consultative capacity.

2. Design, configure, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain all security platforms and their associated software, including firewalls (Security Groups), intrusion detection/prevention systems, anti-virus/malware solutions (HBSS), cryptographic systems (Vormetric), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools (e.g., Splunk), and Mobile Device Management (MDM).

3. Develop systems and methodologies to respond to security incidents and assist in the remediation of cybersecurity events (such as system/network breaches and malware attacks).

4. Engage in the change management process.

5. Coordinate and oversee log analysis for managed services offerings to ensure compliance with customer policies and security requirements.

Essential Qualifications:
- Proficient with at least one of the following tools: Splunk, HBSS/McAfee, Rapid7.
- Expertise in implementing and managing SIEM (e.g., Splunk) and endpoint security (IDS/IPS and HBSS).
- Advanced knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP and LAN/WAN concepts.
- Skilled in automation tools (e.g., Ansible, CloudFormation).
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and exceptional problem-solving abilities.
- Awareness of current cybersecurity trends and hacking methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with additional security tools and processes such as IDS/IPS, VPN, WebInspect, and AppDetective.
- Familiarity with implementing and managing Network and Application Firewalls.
- Background in incident detection, response, and forensic activities.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, PowerShell).
- Experience with Cloud Computing Technologies/Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Familiarity with Agile Software Development methodologies.
- AWS Certification.
- Experience in maintaining virtual private networks, firewalls, and web protocols.
- Knowledge of potential attack vectors such as XSS, injection, hijacking, and social engineering.
- Experience with health monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, SolarWinds).
