Area Pricing Strategist

We are looking for a proficient Area Pricing Strategist to spearhead the implementation of pricing initiatives at the regional level.
The successful candidate will possess a robust analytical skill set, a background in pricing within the foodservice or food manufacturing sectors, and the capability to collaborate effectively with sales teams and local management to pinpoint opportunities for enhancing sales and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Execution of Pricing Strategies:
Oversee and implement area-specific pricing strategies, including the recommendation and adjustment of Sales Representative Cost (SRC) and Price to Customers (PTC). Ensure pricing policies are executed in accordance with central guidelines.
Management of Price Deviations:
Evaluate and oversee price deviation requests, which include commission-based adjustments (CBAs) and self-funded deviations. Establish area-wide policies for Deviation-on-Demand to uphold pricing integrity.
Pricing Support and Training:
Respond to pricing inquiries escalated from sales teams and other personnel. Develop and conduct training sessions for Territory Managers on pricing strategies and margin enhancement techniques.
Special Pricing Analysis:
Formulate pricing recommendations to assist in bids for local clientele and perform special pricing evaluations for new customer acquisition.
Market Pricing Analysis:
Consistently monitor and assess margins and market pricing to uncover potential opportunities. Work in conjunction with District Sales Managers to audit local deviations.
Vendor Price List Oversight:
Administer and upload vendor price lists from local and regional suppliers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established standards.
Team Leadership:
Supervise, mentor, and guide the Area Pricing Analyst, promoting a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
Supervision:
Direct oversight of the Area Pricing Analyst.
Relationship Management:
Internal:
Collaborate with the Region Pricing Manager, Area President, AVP of Merchandising and Marketing, and area sales teams.
External:
Engage with customers and vendors to ensure effective pricing strategies are in place.
Qualifications:
Education/Training:
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of 8 years of pricing experience is required, ideally within the foodservice or food manufacturing industries. Supervisory experience is advantageous.
Skills:
Strong strategic thinking abilities and the capacity to influence senior stakeholders across various functions.
