Compensation: $29.00 Hourly

Inland Counties Legal Services is on the lookout for dedicated client intake coordinators to enhance our team in various locations. As a nonprofit entity, we are committed to delivering legal assistance to individuals with limited financial resources residing in our service areas. Our organization prioritizes support for seniors and those facing significant social or economic challenges. Legal services are administered by qualified attorneys or paralegals under attorney supervision, encompassing advice, limited actions, and direct representation in legal matters.

Position Purpose:

The Client Intake Coordinator serves as the initial point of contact for prospective clients. It is essential for this role to embody professionalism, respect, and empathy while efficiently gathering essential information regarding the applicant's legal concerns to assess eligibility. This position requires the provision of high-quality information, thorough screening of potential clients, meaningful referrals, and appointment scheduling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with audit requirements set by funding sources.
  • Attend and document minutes for all office staff meetings.
  • Compile and submit monthly reports to management.
  • Provide litigation support by assisting assigned advocates with legal documentation, client communication, and scheduling.
  • Perform general administrative duties, including document preparation, client interviews, and appointment management.
  • Conduct eligibility screenings via telephone, entering relevant data into the case management system.
  • Maintain the cash receipts log for client donations.
  • Organize and manage office forms and supplies, ensuring all necessary materials are readily available.
  • Oversee the storage room to maintain an orderly environment.
  • Monitor postage meter levels and notify accounting when supplies are low.
  • Participate in Private Attorney Involvement (PAI) activities as directed.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Practice Group Director or supervising attorneys.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: College degree or equivalent experience, with secretarial training beyond high school.
  • Prior experience in customer service is essential.
  • Fluency in Spanish: ability to speak, read, and write.
  • Strong communication skills, excellent writing and organizational abilities, self-motivated, and capable of multitasking.
  • Minimum of one year of office experience with a typing speed of at least 50 words per minute.
  • Access to high-speed internet for remote work capabilities.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of files with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience with case management systems is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proficient in using various software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Capable of operating standard office equipment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
