Position Overview: Classroom Support Specialist

Organization: Clackamas County Children's Commission, Inc.

Purpose: Collaborate with the Lead Teacher and Assistant Teacher to deliver exceptional early childhood education. Ensure that classroom operations align with established standards and organizational guidelines.

  • Assist in the execution of daily classroom routines and schedules
  • Support the delivery of educational lesson plans
  • Ensure the classroom is stocked with essential supplies
  • Engage in classroom events and uphold cleanliness standards
  • Implement positive behavior strategies and support
  • Provide childcare and assist with food preparation

Responsibilities:

  • Engage in program activities and ongoing training
  • Comply with program policies and operational procedures
  • Report any issues in accordance with agency protocols

Professional Conduct: Adhere to the organization's Code of Conduct

Confidentiality Commitment: Uphold the confidentiality of sensitive information

Professional Development: Set professional objectives and participate in required training sessions

Work Environment:

  • Engage with children aged three to five years
  • Participate in physical activities including standing, walking, and sitting

Note: Position is subject to future funding availability.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Preferred: Child Development Associate (CDA) certification
  • Understanding of child development and prior experience with children is preferred
