Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of students with special needs.
  • Provide academic instruction, social skills development, and vocational training to students, with a focus on meeting IEP goals and objectives.
  • Use data-driven instruction to inform teaching practices and monitor student progress.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and other support staff to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive educational experience for all students.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to ensure that students receive the support they need to succeed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid Oregon Teaching License with a Special Education endorsement.
  • Experience working with students with special needs, preferably in a classroom setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities, with a focus on student needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Experience working with students who have severe developmental delays.
  • Training in research-based instructional strategies and models for improving instructional practices.
  • Fluency in a second language, preferably Spanish, Chinese, Russian, Somali, or Vietnamese.
