Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Casualty Claims Representative 2 to join our team at Grange Insurance Association. As a key member of our claims department, you will be responsible for managing complex injury and damage claims for Auto, Home, and Farm policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Claims Analysis: Interpret policies and analyze details gathered to determine the best course of action for claims resolution.
  • Customer Communication: Prioritize contact with various parties associated with the claim, ensuring efficient and effective communication.
  • Liability Determination: Gather details on status and treatment needed of those injured in an accident and determine liability.
  • Claim Settlement: Evaluate and settle bodily injury and general liability claims.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate with customers, attorneys, and other insurance carriers to resolve claims.
  • Hybrid Work Environment: Ability to work in a hybrid working environment, with 2 days in the office.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree and 2-5 years of P&C Casualty Claims work experience; experience may substitute for education.
  • Skills: Effective verbal and written communication, proven knowledge of insurance contracts, medical terminology, and legal aspects of court procedures affecting legal liability for all lines of insurance.
  • Analytical Skills: Proven analytical skills necessary to make decisions and resolve conflict in areas such as application of coverage to submitted claims, application of laws of jurisdiction to investigation facts, application of policy exclusions and exceptions.
  • Customer Service: Excellent customer service skills, including written and verbal communication skills necessary to effectively communicate and/or negotiate with policy holders, claimants, attorneys, agents, and the general public.
