Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Audit Specialist to join our team. As a Compliance Audit Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with National Seating & Mobility policies and procedures, as well as all applicable insurance guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain a working knowledge of current durable medical equipment and policies and procedures held by National Seating & Mobility, as well as all applicable insurance guidelines.
  2. Ensure compliance with National Seating & Mobility policies and procedures.
  3. Responsible for quarterly audits of claims from the point of service initiation through the ensuring of correct payment.
  4. Responsible for conducting targeted audits of other risk areas such as CRT claims, highly utilized items, miscellaneous codes, repairs, and other targeted areas of concern.
  5. Assist in conducting audits of other Compliance related risk areas such as privacy and other areas of Compliance.
  6. Assist with the development of tools to monitor compliance risk data for assessing the environments risk and need for deeper analysis through review of documentation.
  7. Maintains and manages audit records. Provides detailed audit reports to include accuracy rate information and corrective actions.
  8. Identifies trends and proposes solutions based on identified issues.
  9. Ability to collect, analyze, and report on claims/other-related data.
  10. Collaborate with NSM Audit/QA Team members to gather information for external auditors.
  11. Ability to identify areas requiring training and ensures gaps are addressed. Continuously provides feedback to improve the quality and suitability of training program.
  12. Ability to coach teammates and collaborate with supervisors for performance enhancement of team members across NSM.
  13. Performs any related job duties assigned by the Chief Compliance Officer. Carries out all position expectations in a professional manner and with minimal supervision.
  14. Responsible to complete all continuing education requirements to include assigned NSM University courses.
  15. Must meet minimum productivity and quality standards.
  16. Must maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Work Environment

This position primarily operates in a work from home environment. The work from home policy and requirements must be adhered to. Occasionally, this job operates in a professional office environment.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands repetitively to operate standard office equipment. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms.

Required Education, Experience & Competencies

·Has minimum of 5 years of experience related to Durable Medical Equipment and/or Complex Rehab Technology required, preferred experience in all aspects of a Billing and/or Reimbursement Specialist's position including all order types.

·Has extensive knowledge of the process and insurance guidelines to bill and/or collect for Durable Medical Equipment and/or Complex Rehab Technology including comprehensive knowledge of insurance verification for DME.

·Experience with applications such as BCS, Mobility Advisor or data management systems required.

·Proven record of excellent people skills including good communication and inter-personal skills.

·Strong leadership skills.

·Strong Team Player.

·Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

·Customer service driven.

·Excellent computer and technology skills including good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Outlook, and Power Point; Experience with Excel to include spreadsheets and formulas and outlook email is required.

·Ability to be a strong role model for high performance and productivity.

·Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business reports, technical procedures, work instructions, and governmental regulations.

·Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and develop training materials.

·Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a variety of staff.

·Basic understanding of and willingness to learn and adopt professional and industry standards.
