About AWS Center for Quantum Computing

The AWS Center for Quantum Computing is a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and technicians working together to innovate in quantum computing for our customers.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to design and model novel superconducting quantum devices, including qubits, readout and control schemes, and advanced quantum processors.

Candidates with a strong track record of original scientific contributions and/or software development experience will be preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and model novel superconducting quantum devices
  • Develop and implement advanced quantum processor architectures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate quantum computing solutions into AWS services

Requirements

  • PhD in physics, applied physics, electrical engineering, or equivalent degree in a similar field
  • Strong knowledge of quantum mechanics, with expertise in at least one of the following topics: quantum technologies (sensing, communications, computing), superconducting qubits, hybrid quantum acoustic devices, cavity/circuit QED, quantum optics, open quantum systems, superconductivity (phenomenology or microscopic theory)
  • Proficient in a scientific programming environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with microwave and/or multiphysics modeling software
  • Effective working in a team environment with other engineers, scientists, and technicians who have a wide range of technical skill levels

Salary Range

$120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications
