About the Job: We are seeking a highly skilled High-Performance Computing Systems Specialist to join our team at the University of Washington. As a key member of our Research Cyberinfrastructure group, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and operating Linux-based HPC clusters and storage systems to support research efforts across the university. This role requires a strong background in Linux system administration, process automation, and software development.

Responsibilities: As a High-Performance Computing Systems Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and implementing HPC clusters and storage systems to meet research needs.\
  • Providing technical support to researchers and IT staff on HPC-related issues.\
  • Developing and maintaining scripts and tools to automate administrative tasks.\
  • Collaborating with other teams to ensure seamless integration of HPC resources into the university's IT infrastructure.\
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to inform HPC strategy and implementation.\\-

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.\
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in Linux system administration.\
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.\
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.\
  • Experience with containerization platforms such as Docker or Singularity.\
  • Familiarity with SLURM or other HPC schedulers.\-
