GENERAL FUNCTION:
  • Execute cleaning tasks under moderate supervision, ensuring the sanitation and upkeep of designated work areas in both commercial and residential environments. This role demands physical stamina and the capability to perform the outlined responsibilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform cleaning activities such as sweeping, dusting, mopping, washing, and vacuuming floors. Maintain cleanliness of windows, mirrors, woodwork, furniture, and equipment. Ensure toilet facilities are clean and stocked with essential supplies. Collect and dispose of waste from the premises. Clean dishes and utensils. Regularly wash cleaning materials and sanitize appliances (refrigerator, microwave, stove) inside and out. Communicate any questions or supply needs to the supervisor. Adhere to safety protocols regarding chemical usage.
SUPERVISION REQUIRED:
  • Moderate supervision under standard operating conditions. Will work independently and recognize when to involve the supervisor in problem-solving.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
  • Must be able to comprehend and consistently follow instructions and checklists, ensuring tasks are performed safely and reliably. Maintain an organized storage area for equipment and supplies. Possess general knowledge of housekeeping practices and the safe use of cleaning tools, equipment, and materials. Must be capable of understanding and following verbal or written instructions, with assistance if necessary.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory. Up to three months of experience is beneficial but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to lift and maneuver a vacuum cleaner. Capable of lifting trash bags into disposal units. Able to rearrange chairs, tables, and other furniture to facilitate thorough cleaning of floors or carpets. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and remain on feet for the duration of the work period, typically five hours.
