Position Overview
We are in search of a dedicated and skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Manufacturing Test Engineering division, contributing to the innovative processes behind our production machinery.

About the Role
This team is committed to designing sophisticated, aesthetically pleasing, and data-driven testing equipment for Tesla's power electronic components utilized in vehicles, energy storage systems, and charging solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop automated testing equipment, creating detailed CAD models and pneumatic schematics.
- Evaluate designs through structural and thermal Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
- Lead the conceptualization of equipment, balancing product specifications, process requirements, complexity, cost, and timelines.
- Assess performance and design simplicity, providing constructive feedback on robustness, assembly, and installation.
- Analyze system limitations and propose creative solutions.
- Support the assembly, troubleshooting, validation, and replication of equipment, ensuring readiness for production.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of machinery to guarantee quality and reliability.
- Perform acceptance testing of testing equipment both on-site and off-site.
- Mentor junior engineers, fostering their development in delivering high-quality automation solutions.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering, with a focus on automation, machine design, and product development.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in transitioning products and processes from prototype to production.
- Strong knowledge of solid mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, dynamics, material selection, prototyping, testing methodologies, and fabrication processes.
- Familiarity with various testing systems, production machinery, and industrial sensors.

Skills
- Excellent teamwork abilities, with a history of effective collaboration across engineering disciplines.
- Proficient in SolidWorks, PDM, and Ansys, or similar CAD/CAE software.
- Experience in drafting technical requirements and specifications for automated systems.
- Previous mentoring experience and project management skills are advantageous.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%.
