About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Electronics Engineer to join our team at Tesla's Silicon Development Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative power supply solutions for our Autopilot AI system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with suppliers to design and develop power supply units, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Create and execute complex validation test plans for power supply units, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Lead the prototype bring-up and debugging process for power supply unit-related issues, including power rail ripple reduction and noise coupling mitigation.
  • Design and develop automated test flows for volume-production power supply units, ensuring efficient and reliable testing.
  • Develop firmware and software tools to enable the test system, ensuring seamless integration with our Autopilot AI system.
  • Own the design documentation and validation test reports, ensuring accurate and comprehensive records.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience in low-voltage power electronics design, power supply IC/module application, and validation.
  • Solid knowledge of switching mode power supply principles and electrical engineering fundamentals.
  • Strong hands-on lab experience and excellent problem-solving skills in power supply IC/module debugging.
  • Experience with defining or implementing firmware/software tools to enable power system testing and automation.
  • Solid understanding of power supply noise and its impact on SerDes/memory performance.
  • Experience with signal integrity testing and SoC validation is a plus.
