Position Overview:

The IT Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all facets of IT project teams, which typically encompass various disciplines within the IT sector. This role requires the application of expertise and leadership to guide team members and resolve challenges, ensuring that project objectives and requirements are successfully achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage project execution by defining, documenting, and implementing small-scale projects or subprojects, generally lasting less than six months, with limited budgets and minimal interdependencies.
  2. Identify, assess, and mitigate risks that could impact project success.
  3. Collaborate with stakeholders to establish project approaches and develop realistic plans, including quality, risk, and communication strategies, while monitoring progress against the project timeline.
  4. Track costs, timelines, and resource allocation, taking corrective actions as necessary to adhere to agreed-upon tolerances.
  5. Ensure formal closure of projects, conducting reviews and documenting lessons learned for future reference.
  6. Provide support services to projects, utilizing and recommending project control solutions for effective planning, scheduling, and tracking.
  7. Facilitate project assurance meetings and quality reviews, offering guidance on individual project proposals.
  8. Promote the use of appropriate methodologies and tools within project management.
  9. Oversee financial records to ensure compliance and assist with financial planning and budgeting.
  10. Analyze business processes to identify alternatives and recommend improvements.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering, management, or a related field, along with significant experience in IT systems development, implementation, and maintenance, including at least three years in a project management capacity. Experience with Agile methodologies and familiarity with the utility domain, particularly in the context of US Electric Utilities projects, is highly desirable. Relevant certifications such as PMI Project Management Professional (PMP), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI ACP), or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) are advantageous.
