Position Summary:
The Operations Manager possesses extensive technical knowledge and leads the operations team to provide high-quality and professional solutions.

This role entails overseeing the operations team, mentoring and developing team members, and managing all financial aspects of a portfolio of projects.


Team Management:
- Responsible for staffing, discipline, performance evaluations, career development, and mentoring of professionals (including Operations Supervisors) and other personnel.
- Organizing and scheduling project teams, determining resource needs.
- Right-sizing the operations team based on anticipated resource requirements.
- Managing the equipment pool and repair & maintenance schedules.
- Ensuring timesheet rates, hours, and descriptions are complete, accurate, and appropriate.
- Conducting interviews and onboarding new hires.
- Supporting the Area Manager in operational matters as needed.
- Accountable for all aspects of the operations team's performance.

Technical Capability:
- High level of competency in construction, engineering, and personnel management.
- Able to provide insight and guidance to other professionals.
- Capable of conducting professional reviews of reports.

Financial and Project Management:
- Contributes to financial forecasting and budgeting.
- Assists in overall financial monitoring and management of the department.
- Responsible for operational overhead and repair & maintenance expenditures.
- Manages document and financial oversight within 4castplus.
- Provides insight and direction on all undertaken projects.
- Produces budgets and business cases for capital expenditure requests.
- Mentors Project Management staff on operational project aspects.

Culture:
- Ensures KBL's values are central to every project undertaken.

- Advocates for quality in the field.

Work Environment:
- This position is based out of the Richmond, British Columbia office.
- Travel to project sites or other KBL locations will be necessary.

Qualifications:
- 10+ years of relevant experience.
- A diploma or degree in a related field.
- Skills in project and scope planning, project execution, data organization, and report writing.
- Experience managing financial and human resource challenges in a growing business.
- Ability to self-manage and be proactive.
- Demonstrated acumen in a technical environment.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and other computer skills.
- Detail-oriented, team player operating under strict schedule milestones.
- Willingness to travel.
- A class 5 driver's license.
