HR Business Partner

As an HR Business Partner at Kamehameha Schools, you will play a critical role in supporting the organization's strategic objectives by providing expert HR guidance and counsel to leaders. Your primary focus will be on resolving complex employee relations issues, improving work relationships and environment, and providing guidance on people and workforce strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Consultation
- Serve as the primary HR point of contact for the department, providing HR guidance and interpretation to line and senior management.
- Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to management, including coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions.
- Consult with managers to formulate and execute proposed adjustments for new hires, promotions, and transfers, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and best practices.
- Partner with managers to facilitate team-based interventions to promote high performance and provide individual coaching as needed.
- Partner with management and other HR partners to align people strategies with unit goals and the organization's mission, identifying skills and talent needs for short-, mid-, and long-term success.
- Collaborate with Talent Management to provide strategic guidance to leaders on goal setting, coaching, and the creation of individual performance development plans.
- Deliver training on a variety of topics to diverse audiences.
- Analyze data to gain insights into workforce trends, engagement, and performance metrics, engaging with others to make connections and test data-informed insights.
- Utilize data and insights to inform problem-solving and enhance manager effectiveness, designing responses, remedies, and programming accordingly.
- Collaborate with leaders to identify root causes of complex employee issues and develop targeted remedies.
- Diagnose and address complex employee relations issues by conducting thorough and unbiased investigations, working with management on effective conflict resolution.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Ensure fair and consistent application of policies and procedures to prevent breaches of federal, state, or local regulations.
- Lead HR projects and initiatives aimed at advancing people strategies, including reorganizations, workforce planning, and succession planning.
- Drive organizational change through effective communication, training, and modeling during transitions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of applicable experience.
- Understanding of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
- Thorough knowledge of HR disciplines, including employee relations, performance management, policy administration, and workforce planning.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Excellent organization and time management skills to handle competing priorities.
- Proficiency in technology and use of office applications.
- Must be able to uphold the highest level of confidentiality.
