Position Overview:

The Maintenance Lead plays a vital role in overseeing the maintenance operations across our facilities. This hands-on position requires a leader who is not only adept at supervising a dedicated team but is also actively involved in performing maintenance tasks. The Maintenance Lead will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining critical equipment to ensure seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a working supervisor, engaging in the maintenance and repair of galvanizing machinery alongside the maintenance crew.
  • Exemplify hands-on expertise in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues pertinent to the galvanizing sector.
  • Perform essential maintenance and repair tasks on key machinery, ensuring minimal downtime and peak operational efficiency.
  • Apply technical skills to execute metalwork tasks, including cutting and welding, crucial for maintaining facility equipment.
  • Organize and conduct preventive maintenance activities, contributing directly to the durability and reliability of machinery.
  • Be available to work weekends as necessary to service production equipment that cannot be offline during regular hours.
  • Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and carry out repairs outside of standard working hours as part of on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Proven hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, with a strong focus on practical fieldwork.
  • Extensive experience with diesel forklifts, overhead cranes, boilers, and related machinery.
  • Skilled in high-voltage (480V) systems and adept at resolving electrical and mechanical challenges.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in a maintenance role within a heavy industrial setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute detailed and complex repairs requiring mechanical proficiency.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of leading a team while contributing physically to the required tasks.
  • Able to multitask and operate efficiently in a demanding, hands-on production environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling weights up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform frequent squatting, kneeling, bending, twisting, and reaching.
  • Capable of working in various positions, including sitting, standing, walking, and driving, for extended durations.

Work Environment:

  • This position requires working under diverse weather conditions and in a challenging industrial environment. The candidate should be prepared to work for extended periods with minimal supervision.

Work Schedule:

  • AM Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
  • Employment Type: Full-time
