Job Overview

Position: Maintenance Technician

Role Summary:

As a Maintenance Technician, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the optimal functioning of equipment across various areas, including production, storage, and administrative spaces. This role involves routine maintenance tasks, filter replacements for HVAC systems, and minor repairs on various machinery such as forklifts and scissor lifts. Flexibility to work on weekends may be required. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse skill set to perform a range of medium to high-level maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment issues.
  2. Conducting regular lubrication of machinery.
  3. Managing inventory of maintenance supplies and parts.
  4. Implementing the preventative maintenance schedule for equipment and facilities.
  5. Assisting in the installation of new equipment.
  6. Maintaining cleanliness and organization within the maintenance shop and overall facility.
  7. Operating forklifts (experience and/or certification required).
  8. Ensuring compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.
  9. Promoting a safe and clean working environment.
  10. Working with PLC controls as needed.
  11. Performing welding tasks (MIG/TIG/ARC) and fabrication work.
  12. Repairing structural damages within the facility, including walls and floors.

Essential Skills:

  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Preventive maintenance expertise.
  • Familiarity with pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Blueprint reading and schematic interpretation.
  • Proficient use of hand tools and service equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree or a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Experience in mechanical maintenance is essential.
  • Electrical maintenance experience is advantageous.
  • Forklift operation experience and certification.
  • Ability to work with Thermo-Forming machines.
  • Preferred experience in food manufacturing environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Capability to lift 50 lbs or more.
  • Welding and fabrication skills.
  • Basic plumbing knowledge.
  • Understanding of pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to work in refrigerated settings.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems.
  • Carpentry skills.
