Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual who is capable of making independent decisions efficiently while maintaining accountability for their actions. The Sanitation Services Specialist will support the procurement of necessary equipment and supplies across various units.

This role involves adhering to strict infection control protocols and performing daily cleaning tasks in patient care areas, as well as conducting thorough cleaning and light maintenance throughout the facility.

Additionally, the Specialist will ensure the cleanliness of public spaces surrounding the hospital, which includes tasks such as collecting litter, emptying trash receptacles, and maintaining a tidy environment.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure safe and timely transportation of supplies and equipment throughout the facility.
  • Distribute patient care and office supplies as per received orders.
  • Utilize communication devices to maintain prompt responsiveness.
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures while completing assignments efficiently.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • Perform light maintenance tasks and report any necessary repairs.
  • Engage in proactive communication with staff regarding work status and challenges.

Essential Functions:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Cleaning and preparing patient rooms for new admissions.
  • Transporting patients between departments as needed.
  • Acting as a runner for supply and equipment requests.
  • Maintaining equipment and ensuring proper care after use.
  • Performing deep cleaning and handling infectious waste appropriately.
  • Managing outdoor cleanliness and maintenance of hospital grounds.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred; relevant experience may substitute for education.

Experience:

  • One year of relevant experience preferred.

Certifications:

  • Must obtain USDOT Hazmat certification within 30 days of hire.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting objects weighing over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and depth perception.
