The Ethos Cannabis leadership has a proven track record in developing and managing successful cannabis operations in the United States.

Position Summary/Objective:

The Dispensary Operations Director is tasked with overseeing and directing a team of dispensary staff at the Company's cannabis retail outlet. This role involves hands-on management and operational oversight of the dispensary. The Director acts as a mentor and supervisor for staff, advocates for patients, and represents the Ethos brand.

We are in search of a dedicated, detail-oriented, and collaborative Dispensary Operations Director to lead, guide, and support the daily operations of the dispensary. This includes addressing the needs of all patients and recruiting and developing a team of Product Associates who are committed to delivering an exceptional, innovative cannabis retail experience that adheres to state and local regulations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate adaptability to our business model and possess substantial leadership experience, as they will be entrusted with significant responsibilities related to the dispensary's launch and operations while maximizing sales with a focus on customer service. Previous experience in cannabis retail is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and policies to further Ethos' mission, vision, goals, and objectives at the retail level.
  • Recruit, develop, and train dispensary personnel. Lead the creation of employee training materials, focusing on education and development regarding medical cannabis strains, products, and consumption methods.
  • Assist in the launch and operational maintenance of the dispensary.
  • Manage financial documentation and cash handling protocols.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Oversee store opening and closing procedures.
  • Collaborate with other department leaders to create a premier customer experience.
  • Enhance store productivity through operational excellence, process improvements, and effective problem resolution.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations of dispensary staff.
  • Engage with wholesalers and growers/processors to negotiate and secure quality product supplies.
  • Coordinate and manage the dispensary schedule.
  • Oversee all aspects of dispensary operations with a customer-first approach, emphasizing company culture, ethics, customer service, sales growth, and brand standards.
  • Provide insights on marketing strategies and initiatives in collaboration with current managers and the incoming marketing team.
  • Work closely with compliance, security, and transportation managers on mutual issues and prioritization of needs.
  • Act as a liaison to the local community and healthcare providers.
  • Coordinate patient outreach and educational programs in collaboration with growers/processors and the marketing team.
  • Collaborate with IT managers to assess and adjust technology implementations based on business requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to all policies, standards, and values.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all products and strains available in the store, along with industry-wide product knowledge.
  • Stay informed about customer and business trends, providing feedback to corporate stakeholders on retail and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure a safe and sanitary physical environment, with all equipment and technology in optimal working condition.
  • Lead initiatives, store strategies, and specific projects assigned by executive management.
  • Report directly to the Manager of Retail Operations.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree is preferred.

Work Experience:

  • Extensive managerial experience in a cannabis retail setting.
  • Significant exposure to retail environments with well-established standard operating procedures and employee training programs.
  • Experience in inventory management and reconciliation.
  • Human Resources management experience, including hiring, training, records management, performance evaluations, and payroll processing.
  • A work history that reflects stability, progressive responsibility, and a willingness to embrace new challenges.

  • Proficiency in computer applications, including retail point-of-sale software, all MS Office programs, email, scheduling software, and online conferencing tools.
  • Ability to develop, analyze, and interpret key performance metrics, as well as read and analyze financial reports related to dispensary performance.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, including anticipatory thinking and the capacity to maintain composure under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a diverse, multicultural, and multigenerational environment.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds over a distance of 50 feet.
  • Must pass stringent state background checks.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a valid driver's license or state identification card.

Compensation:

  • Annual salary with additional incentive compensation.

This position is classified as Exempt and is not eligible for overtime pay.
