To excel in this role, the individual must effectively carry out the following essential duties:
- Maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and upkeep of the facility's interior and its furnishings.
- Collaborate with the Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor to implement necessary improvements.
- Adhere to all housekeeping protocols in line with established policies and procedures.
- Clean designated outdoor areas, including porches and patios.
- Perform daily cleaning, sanitizing, and deodorizing of all resident and communal spaces.
- Conduct periodic cleaning of windows, walls, and floor maintenance tasks such as waxing and polishing.
- Ensure that all areas of the facility remain clean and organized throughout the day.
- Properly dispose of trash and waste in designated containers.
- Replenish trash receptacles with appropriate liners to ensure correct waste disposal.
- Present a clean and professional appearance to visitors and staff.
- Direct all inquiries regarding the facility and residents to Supervisors.
- Execute all cleaning tasks in compliance with sanitary regulations and established policies.
- Report any accidents or incidents as per facility protocols.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
The following qualifications are essential for this position:
- Basic understanding of cleaning techniques.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to accept guidance and constructive feedback.
- Ability to interact tactfully with employees, management, visitors, and the general public.
- Commitment to the care and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
- Ability to minimize waste and misuse of resources.
- Willingness to learn and adapt new methods into existing practices.
- Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job:
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
- Capability to reach overhead for cleaning tasks.
- Ability to stoop and bend to pick up objects and clean various surfaces.
- Ability to move throughout the facility during the workday.
- Proficiency in speaking and writing in English.
- Ability to relate to and work with individuals who may be ill, disabled, or elderly.
- Capability to assist in the evacuation of residents when necessary.
- Participation in external activities may be required to stay updated on best practices and regulatory changes.
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, or evenings as needed.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality regarding resident care information.
- Compliance with the Drug-Free Workplace Act is mandatory.
- Adherence to all relevant healthcare regulations and laws is required.
