POSITION SUMMARY:

As a vital member of the housekeeping team, the Housekeeping Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring that all guest accommodations meet the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Employee Development: Trains and provides feedback on the counseling, discipline, and recognition of staff, adhering to the hotel's standards. Regularly evaluates employee performance through effective communication with both staff and management.
  • Guest Satisfaction: Ensures timely responses to guest inquiries and complaints, focusing on enhancing guest service and comfort while holding staff accountable to established standards.
  • Quality Control: Conducts inspections of assigned guest rooms to guarantee cleanliness and maintenance, addressing any deficiencies to exceed guest expectations. Reports maintenance needs promptly and follows up on resolutions.
  • Operational Improvement: Assists management in developing and monitoring new standards, procedures, and policies to enhance departmental efficiency.
  • Room Turnover: Responsible for the timely and efficient turnover of rooms to the Front Desk for re-selling, prioritizing tasks to facilitate smooth guest check-ins.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensures that all staff are trained to work safely, minimizing hazards and preventing accidents.
  • Task Management: Prepares daily housekeeping assignments and special projects, maintaining frequent communication with the Front Desk regarding room turnover and urgent requests.
  • Standards Maintenance: Inspects all areas to uphold world-class standards of cleanliness and sanitation, coordinating necessary repairs with the Maintenance department.
  • Inventory Management: Maintains appropriate levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, ordering as needed while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Record Keeping: Accurately completes monthly linen and weekly guest supply inventories.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Fosters a cooperative working relationship with other hotel departments, including Banquets, Conference Services, Front Office, Maintenance, and Culinary operations.
  • Lost and Found Management: Ensures effective use of the hotel’s lost and found program.
  • Administrative Support: Assists with various administrative tasks as required.

SUPERVISION:

Indirect supervision of Room Attendants, Section Housecleaners, Housekeeping Attendants, Upholstery Maintenance, and temporary staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager in a 3-5 star hotel or resort.
  • Professional knowledge of sanitation practices, cleaning equipment, and safe handling of cleaning products.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to transport up to 40 pounds, engage in extensive walking, and perform reaching and bending tasks.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates Degree in Hotel Management or a related field.
