Culinary Specialist for Events

Major Food Group is seeking skilled Event Line Cooks to contribute to our culinary operations at THE GRILL.

THE GRILL embodies a classic American chophouse experience, drawing inspiration from midcentury New York's dining scene. This establishment pays homage to the era of the Seagram Building and the sophisticated restaurants of that time. It serves as a precursor to the modern NY Steakhouse, emphasizing elegance and intricacy in its offerings. The menu celebrates a variety of land and sea delicacies, featuring extensive table-side preparation and service, with a focus on the signature cooking techniques utilized at THE GRILL.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and organize cooking stations with all essential supplies.
  • Assist in food preparation for service, including chopping, butchering, and sauce creation.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to cook menu items efficiently.
  • Follow directives from executive or sous chefs diligently.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the station and manage leftover food responsibly.
  • Accurately stock inventory as needed.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality food service for all dishes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred minimum of 2 years experience in high-volume and upscale dining environments.
  • Culinary diploma or equivalent experience is strongly preferred.
  • Must possess a team-oriented mindset and a positive attitude.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
