Job Title: Senior Human Resources Business Partner

At the State of Oregon, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Human Resources Business Partner to join our team. As a key member of our HR team, you will provide strategic guidance and support to our managers and employees, ensuring that our HR practices are aligned with our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide consultation and guidance on employee relations, labor relations, performance management, employee leaves, safety, training and development, and position management.
  • Collaborate with managers and employees to resolve workplace issues and concerns, and provide support for employee grievances and investigations.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance HR knowledge and skills among managers and employees.
  • Coordinate and conduct workplace investigations, and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Act as the agency's Safety Officer and coordinate the safety program, including chairing the safety committee.
  • Serve as the agency's Affirmative Action/EEO Representative.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior or Development, Business or Public Administration, the Applied Behavioral Sciences, Industrial Relations or a job-related course of study determined by the appointing authority.
  • Three years of Human Resource professional-level experience related to the position.
  • Valid certification as a Professional in Human Resource awarded by the Human Resource Certification Institute, or six years of Human Resource experience related to the position.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and follow up.
  • Ability to communicate confidently and effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Experience with Workday or other HRIS.
