Sodexo Universities is in search of a Unit Controller 3 to oversee financial reporting for a university setting. This role will encompass managing accounting and financial operations while providing strategic oversight to enhance financial performance. The position is designed to expand to support additional district operations.

The selected Unit Controller will deliver financial support for weekly projections, participate in comprehensive budget reviews, update forecasts, manage period closings, and generate ad hoc reports (daily, weekly, and monthly). This Controller will act as the primary liaison for unit and district financial projections, addressing inquiries and concerns. It is essential to ensure that weekly and monthly financial reports are finalized for clients, along with thorough monthly analyses of results and detailed variance explanations submitted within specified timelines. Experience in a university environment is advantageous, as is the capability to manage the financial aspects of client contracts.

The Unit Controller will be responsible for:

  • Calculating weekly and monthly financial metrics
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Conducting audits
  • Performing reconciliations
  • Assisting with the month-end closing process
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable
  • Preparing client financial reports and presenting financial data
  • Monitoring and analyzing financial information
  • Executing UFS entries and unit transfers, performing reconciliations
  • Overseeing accounting and finance processes/projects
  • Ensuring the integrity of internal financial reporting, preparing client income statements and billings
  • Collaborating in a team environment to meet departmental deadlines
  • Proactively identifying and implementing innovative solutions to prevent issues
  • Establishing analysis standards and maintaining strong business relationships
  • Encouraging cooperation to achieve departmental and organizational objectives
  • Communicating effectively with all organizational levels

While the budgeted range for this position is available, Sodexo's salary offers are tailored to each candidate's specific qualifications, including experience, skills, education, and training.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Basic Education Requirement – Associate's Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Functional Experience – 2 years in accounting, finance, or a related field
