The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Careers seeks an Administrative Support Specialist to provide administrative support and facilitate the execution of all operations of the Association's Board of Directors and assigned governance committees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain administrative procedures and processes to facilitate the execution of all operations of the Board of Directors and the Committee on Committees.
  • Act as the primary logistics and operations manager for planning and conducting Board of Directors and assigned governance committee meetings.
  • Support the work of the ASHA President and serve as President's handler at the annual ASHA Convention.
  • Serve as the staff liaison to assigned committees.
  • Manage special projects assigned by the Senior Director, Association Governance Operations or Chief Executive Officer.
Requirements:
  • 4-6 years of high-level administrative experience in a professional association
  • Bachelor's degree
Preferred Skills:
  • Proficiency with common computer platforms and software programs for volunteer management, e.g., Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, netForum, OpenWater, and Higher Logic
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and organize information in an online community site
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of association governance policy and procedures
