Key Responsibilities

The Security Specialist II plays a crucial role in safeguarding the physical security of personnel and assets within IGT facilities by enforcing all security protocols and regulations.

  • Primarily responsible for the security of personnel and property at the designated facility.
  • Conducts surveillance from a fixed location or through foot patrols.
  • Monitors behaviors and enforces security policies.
  • Identifies and reports any violations as necessary.
  • Communicates security breaches or potential threats to physical safety (fire, disorder, emergencies).
  • Acts as the first point of contact during emergency situations.
  • Serves as a liaison to law enforcement, fire department personnel, or emergency medical teams from federal, state, or local agencies.
  • Documents all incidents involving criminal activities and security breaches.

Security Operations Center

  • Receives, assesses, and troubleshoots level 1 security equipment malfunctions.
  • Monitors current assignments of security personnel.
  • Ensures resolution of calls.
  • Records shift activities in the Daily Activity Log.
  • Oversees access control, intrusion detection, fire alarm, and video surveillance systems.
  • Monitors CCTV using the Ultrakey system and understands how to reset it when necessary.

Customer Service

  • Maintains a safe and secure environment both in appearance and reality.
  • Provides professional and courteous service consistently.
  • Aims to de-escalate or prevent dangerous or criminal activities whenever feasible.
  • Educates IGT employees on security policies and regulations.
  • Assists employees with security-related issues (escorts, directions, badging assistance, etc.).
  • Facilitates the shipment of monthly USBs.

Communications and Interactions

  • Fosters a culture of customer service.
  • Internal communications are primarily limited to the department served.
  • External interactions are infrequent.
  • Receives and transmits semi-routine information requiring minimal explanation.

Work Assignment

  • Work is closely supervised and reviewed.
  • Detailed instructions are provided for new tasks.
  • Follows established procedures for recurring tasks.
  • Escalates non-routine issues to senior personnel for resolution.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of departmental procedures.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local laws and ordinances.
  • Understanding of security/law enforcement equipment.
  • Knowledge of security protective systems (fire alarms, building access, etc.).
  • Experience with CCTV systems.
  • Associate's Degree or High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Typically possesses 1 to 2 years of experience in security.
  • Holds certifications in CPR, First Aid, and AED.

The pay range for this position is $14 - $17 per hour, commensurate with experience. The working hours are Wednesday through Sunday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
