Safety and Security Specialist

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The main duty of the Safety and Security Specialist is to deliver the highest level of service by safeguarding both the premises and the well-being of guests and staff through vigilant observation, accurate reporting, and prompt action.
  • Maintain composure and professionalism in all emergency scenarios, including but not limited to, medical incidents, disturbances, and threats.
  • Station at designated posts, both inside and outside the facility, as instructed by management.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the property, providing assistance to guests and team members while ensuring the premises are secure from theft or damage.
  • Remain alert to safety issues or suspicious activities in all areas of the establishment.
  • Exercise sound judgment and a calm approach when interacting with upset individuals, ensuring to de-escalate confrontations safely.
  • In emergency situations, take charge and guide colleagues and guests on the appropriate actions to follow.
  • Conduct thorough investigations and compile detailed reports by asking relevant questions to gather essential information for incident documentation.
  • Maintain continuous communication with guests and team members to ensure exceptional service, collaborating with various departments to gather necessary information for guest support and investigations.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Prior experience in security, military, or law enforcement is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and professionalism are essential when liaising with external agencies such as law enforcement and emergency services.
  • Ability to manage interruptions and perform multiple tasks while remaining composed in high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for accurate report generation.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to effectively engage with business contacts and team members across all organizational levels.
  • Attention to detail and effective presentation skills are crucial for conveying information clearly and responding to inquiries from various stakeholders.
  • Basic mathematical skills to perform calculations and manage figures accurately.
  • Problem-solving abilities to address a variety of situations calmly and professionally.
  • Capability to interpret and act on diverse instructions provided in various formats.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills are mandatory.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

The employee may need to reach above shoulder level, bend, stoop, squat, balance, kneel, lift, and push/pull. Occasionally, the employee must lift and/or move items weighing up to 25-75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
