Position Overview:

The Walsh Group is actively seeking a Site Grading Supervisor to lead our team in overseeing grading operations. This role is essential for ensuring the successful execution of construction projects.

The Site Grading Supervisor will be responsible for managing and coordinating a crew of 3-15 construction personnel on a daily basis, ensuring that grading tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Site Grading Supervisor include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing and managing crews within designated project areas
  • Coordinating and scheduling activities of assigned craft workers while liaising with other trades
  • Interpreting specifications and plans to determine construction requirements
  • Utilizing measuring and marking tools to locate and designate site areas for structures or equipment
  • Documenting personnel, production, and operational data on required forms or reports
  • Assisting workers engaged in construction activities with hand tools and equipment
  • Monitoring work progress, equipment, and construction sites to ensure safety and compliance with specifications
  • Adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a drug-free workplace
  • Training and supervising team members on company policies and safety regulations

Qualifications:

  • Preferred 5 years of experience as a Construction Supervisor
  • 5-8 years of verifiable experience in the construction field required
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams and subcontractors
  • Effective communication skills with crew members, project management, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Ability to read and comprehend work plans
  • Physical capability to climb and maintain balance on scaffolding or ladders
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
  • Commitment to safety policies and effective communication with team members
  • Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn
  • Good manual dexterity with the ability to stand, bend, kneel, or sit for extended periods
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening
