The Role

We are seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager to join our Finance department and collaborate with various business units. In this capacity, you will closely partner with stakeholders to evaluate actual performance against our strategic objectives. You will also assist in setting targets and lead the monthly creation of reports and dashboards for executive leadership.

You are a data-oriented problem solver eager to provide impactful reporting and analysis to support leadership decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the annual budgeting process, coordinating with different departments to collect inputs, establish realistic targets, and ensure alignment with the company’s overarching goals.
  • Facilitate monthly discussions with department leaders to assess variances between planned and actual operating and capital expenditures.
  • Develop and maintain rolling forecasts, ensuring they are accurate and relevant to current business conditions.
  • Conduct detailed financial analyses on business performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Continuously assess and enhance financial processes and systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Review and authorize purchase requisitions in line with the budget.
  • Create data visualizations for presentations to leadership, the board of directors, and potential investors.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 4 - 6 years of experience in Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, Venture Capital, Private Equity, or Management Consulting.
  • Advanced Excel skills (proficiency in lookups, pivot tables, if statements, sumif, etc.).
  • Ability to reconcile data from multiple sources and efficiently summarize discrepancies.
  • Proven capability to integrate data from various sources and develop dynamic reporting solutions.
  • Competence in effectively presenting information and addressing inquiries from diverse stakeholders.
  • Positive attitude with a collaborative spirit and strong teamwork skills.
  • Excellent prioritization abilities and the capacity to manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines.
  • Experience in structuring data and creating visual representations (e.g., charts, graphs, etc.).
  • Proficient in PowerPoint and/or Google Slides.
  • Familiarity with reporting tools such as Tableau, Qlik, Alteryx, and/or Power BI.
  • Enthusiasm for working in a dynamic start-up environment with evolving priorities.
Bonus Qualifications
  • Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) or active Certified Financial Analyst designation is highly preferred.
  • Experience with SQL, VBA, or other programming languages.
  • Familiarity with Tableau.

The U.S. base salary range for this position is $138,000 - $183,000, in addition to benefits, equity, and variable compensation for sales-related roles. This range reflects SPAN's good faith estimate of a competitively-priced salary for the role based on national, real-time industry data from companies of a similar growth stage. Individual pay is determined by location and individual factors including relevant skills, experience, and education or training.
