Job Summary

The YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Assistant Director of Middle School Programs. This key leadership role will be responsible for overseeing and supervising middle school programs, including direct supervision of Site Directors, to ensure high-quality service to children, parents, and support staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Oversight: Oversee and supervise middle school programs, including direct supervision of Site Directors, to ensure high-quality service to children, parents, and support staff.
  • Site Visits and Evaluations: Conduct regular site visits and evaluations to assess program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Budget Management: Assist in creating and implementing site and department budgets, as well as managing grant budgets and tracking expenses.
  • Staff Development: Provide annual evaluations, quality training, and staff development for directors at assigned sites to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
  • Site Staffing: Effectively staff the sites of responsibility and provide coverage for all sites as needed to meet grant contract standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Follow up on all visits by the YMCA and internal audits to ensure compliance with program standards and regulations.
  • Community Relations: Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents, staff, school faculty, and school principals to ensure a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Facility Maintenance: Ensure the cleanliness and organization of school sites and YMCA equipment, supplies, and inventory.
  • Financial Management: Review accounting books and ensure payments are up to date.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in an education setting.
  • Skills: Experience in budgeting, curriculum implementation, and program evaluation; middle school teaching experience a plus.
  • Personal Qualities: Proven ability to effectively collaborate with partners to reach common goals and strategies; ability to relate to diverse groups of people from all socio-economic segments of the community.
  • Physical Demands: Must be capable of working under pressure and have excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to operate standard recreational, office, and computer equipment.
  • Certifications: Must possess a valid driver's license and meet the YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg's driving criteria.
