Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director of Contract Management to join our team at General Dynamics Ordnance & Tactical Systems. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading our contracts administration function and overseeing the preparation and administration of bids, proposals, negotiations, and contracts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contract Administration: Direct all activities in the organization's contracts administration function, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Contract Preparation and Administration: Oversee the preparation and administration of bids, proposals, negotiations, and contracts, ensuring timely and effective execution.
  • Staff Management: Direct the contracts administration staff and guide compliance with complex contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Policies and Processes: Manage and develop policies and processes that govern the contract administration staff, providing guidance on contract terms and the assessment of contract proposals.
  • Contract Knowledge: Possess deep knowledge of the contract life cycle, types of contracts, and applicable government regulations.
  • Negotiation and Strategy: Provide strategies on the negotiation of complex or high-value contracts, ensuring optimal outcomes for the organization.
  • Leadership and Management: Lead and direct the work of other employees, with responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination with concurrence from HR & Senior Leadership.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
  • Experience: 12-15 years of experience in a relevant function.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business or relevant degree, experience within the defense industry, preferred professional procurement/contracting certifications, government contracts experience, and working knowledge of munitions.

  • Knowledge and Skills: Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of concepts, principles, practices, and procedures of specialization to the completion of difficult assignments.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Strong written, digital, and verbal communication skills in both an individual and team environment.
  • Planning and Execution: Must be able to manage quickly changing priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Integrity and Ethics: Works within the highest level of integrity, ethics, and safety.
